Permits
- International orders (outside of Canada) require CITES export permits for the shipments. On average CITES permits take 2 – 4 days to receive and there is NO CHARGE for U.S. and Overseas customers on any order. However, actually shipping date may be later than number of days given above. Please see the "Shipments" section below.
- Canadian customers do not require a CITES permit since Pro Reptiles is located within Canada. Therefore animals are usually shipped the same week of the full purchase, depending on the customer’s schedule.
- US customers not longer require any Fish & Wildlife form. US customers now receive all orders via FedEx Live Animal service and do not need to deal with any Fish & Wildlife office.
Shipments
-
All our international packages fly with Air Canada unless the airline does not fly to your nearest convenient airport. All shipments are professionally packaged and have a minimum of 60hr heat packs to maintain optimal temperatures.
-
US customers will receive their animals via the FedEx Live Animal service. We cross over the boarder and have all animals inspected at the Niagara/Buffalo Fish & Wildlife office in NY. From there the animals are sent via FedEx.
- Canadian customers can receive their animals the same week of full payment depending on the customer’s schedule. All Canadian shipments are done with Air Canada or West Jet.
- All shipments to other countries other than the USA will be done via Air Canada unless Air Canada does not fly to the required destination.
- Note: ALL shipments are subject to weather conditions such as extreme temperatures. If we deem the conditions to be unsuitable or the carrier refuses to accept live shipments on particular days, alternate arrangements will be made.
- Animals will be insured at customers request and cost.
- All shipments are prepaid with the carrier and shipping costs must be made to us prior to any delivery of any shipment.
- In addition to the 2 - 4 day wait period to obtain CITES, please allow 2 - 3 weeks from full purchase date to receive the animal. This extra time is required to accommodate both the filing of CITES and for US Fish & Wildlife to book an inspection date for the animal being imported. This process is simple and straight forward and the customer will not require any effort on their part. All you, the customer, have to do is pay for the animal and be at your address to accept the shipment.
Guarantees and Live Arrivals
- All animals will be guaranteed healthy, feeding and properly sexed, unless otherwise stated.
- If for any reason you are not happy with the animal(s) received, you must notify us within 48 hrs of receiving shipment. We will not be held responsible for shipments not picked up within two hours of your airport receiving the package, unless otherwise agreed upon.
- In addition, if an animal is dead upon arrival, you must file a claim with the airport immediately. A photocopy of this claim must be sent to ProReptiles. If an animal is received dead, it will be replaced if, and only if, the customer fulfils his part of the agreement. If a replacement cannot be provided, you will receive a refund in full. We also may require photos of the deceased animal, or to have it returned at our cost.
Deposits and Reservations
- All animals are sold on a first come first serve basis, you may however reserve an animal with a 25% (non refundable) deposit. Absolutely no deposits will be taken until animals are born; if at anytime we can not provide you with the animal(s) you have reserved, your deposit will be promptly refunded.
- No animal is considered sold until the deposit is received.
- All deposits are made on a non-refundable basis. There are no exceptions, aside from an instance where we can no longer provide the animal.
- Buyers have a total of 30 days subsequent to the deposit to remit the balance owing. This is to be expected unless otherwise agreed upon. Failure to comply with this agreement will result in the forfeit of the deposit. There are no exceptions.
- Generally, deposits are 25% of the total cost of the animal(s) being purchased. Upon our discretion, exceptions may be made for higher-end specimens.
