White Smoke Boas

This is a bloodline of boas that we are currently working with that we have dubbed "whitesmoke". First of all let me address that this is not a "Morph" but a particular bloodline that produces extremely light colored boas with reduced melanin throughout the body. They start their life out normal enough, and with every passing shed, seem to loose, varying degrees of black pigment. A portion of these boas also carry a genetic reverse stripe, passed on from the female. These are unbelievable little boas that have to be seen to be appreciated properly, pictures just don't do it. What excites us the most is not this actual bloodline itself, but the possibilities of what you can do with it. We plan on breeding a Swedish jungle male into this line. The nicer the female the nicer the jungles are going to be, babies should be outrageous, Motleys will also be an interesting pairing with this line. If you are a fan of light colored boas then we think you will love these.

As you can see from the photos, of the female and her offspring below, striping is almost identical, also note the light coloration of the female, not your typical dark brown Columbian, she is almost a caramel color and the reds towards the side, display as though they were that of a true redtail. This is the first season for breeding a hypo boa into our WS line, we were unsure of what it was going to do to the offspring's overall appearance, but in the end, we were happy with the results. The normals of the litter are very typical of this line but the hypos are infused with pastel reds.

The babies reverse stripes, are almost carbon copies of the females stripe:

These photos clearly show there is not much darkening of color into adulthood (Baby and adult are the same animal) they seem to remain light in color, never darkening to the extent of most common Columbians, and most, never even attaining the color of the original female. What excites us the most is not this actual bloodline, but the possibilities of what you can do with it. We have been extremely Fortunate in picking out the ones we think will develop into amazing adults. As is evident in the photo below. This is the offspring of the first generation "whitesmoke" female pictured above, as you can see from the photo the white coloration is even more exaggerated, and makes this specimen extremely eye catching.

To us, this is an amazing bloodline with endless possibilities and potential , if you are in the market for really nice commons or salmons then you absolutely cannot go wrong with these, not only do some have the genetic reverse stripe, but it's the possibilities that may develop from this bloodline that makes it so intriguing. and let's not forget that they are awesome looking Boas as well.
